The Story of
Elm Street Diner
Elm Street Diner’s story is a family affair—with a twist. What began in 1987 as a modest neighborhood diner founded by John Moshos’s parents has evolved into a modern-day culinary playground for indulgence, creativity, and community. From his earliest days, John watched the diner grow—helping behind the counter, absorbing its rhythms, and learning firsthand the meaning of hospitality.
After completing college at NYU and working briefly in finance, John felt the pull of home—and the chance to reinvent the family legacy. He returned to Elm Street with a fresh vision: to preserve the warmth and familiarity of the classic diner while pushing the boundaries of comfort food into the extraordinary.
Under John’s leadership, Elm Street has become as much a destination for social media lovers as for locals craving a hearty meal. His over-the-top signature creations—towering waffles, showstopping milkshakes, and playful mashups—have earned the diner national attention with features on major television networks.
But despite all the buzz, Elm Street’s heart remains the same: a place where friends, families, and strangers gather for good food, warm service, and a little bit of wonder. Whether it’s a perfectly executed classic or one of John’s whimsical originals, every dish is made with love—and a bit of flair.
